Darren brings over 20 years of health care experience. I completed my nursing degree from the University of Manitoba in 2000. Since then I has worked in hospitals, for Home Care and Personal Care Home settings. I spent 3 years on the College of Registered Nurses Board of Directors. These experiences have provided me with a unique understanding of how these environments operate, communicate and prioritize care.
Over the years I have developed specialities in geriatric care, chronic care and long term care. I have worked extensively with clients, their families and friends in their homes with the goal of optimizing the client’s health, sense of wellbeing and safety. In an age of 1 concern doctor visits, polypharmacy, long wait lists, confusing treatments and tests, and turn style medicine, it is good to have a trained professional on your side willing to take the time to review your health goals as you see them and help you reach them.
I feel it Is more important today than ever to be well organized, know the questions you want to ask and have clear healthcare goals. This is not easy to do, especially when you are overwhelmed by balancing healthcare concerns, personal, family and work responsibilities. A little help can make a world of difference.
As the public funded health care sector changes to meet the future needs of Canadians, Canadians need to prepare and educate themselves to receive the best possible personal health care outcomes. There are many ways to do this, especially with access to the internet. But what I bring consultant brings is that wealth of knowledge synergized into a usable personal plan of care, a clear direction and the confidence of having a health care provider in your corner.
